For close to 60 years, Our Lady of the Assumption Parish has been serving the people of northeast Albuquerque. While much has changed in our area throughout the years, one thing has remained the same — the commitment of our parish to the faith of Jesus Christ. Since the days of the first Masses in the Assumption Mission Chapel, through the first six-room school and convent at our present site, and the current church, men and women of faith have gathered for prayer, worship and fellowship as member of our parish family. As a parish community, we are extremely proud of the high quality Catholic education that our parishioners have generously support since 1954. Graduates of OLA School enjoy the benefits of the skills and knowledge they have acquired during their time spent here. They have a solid foundation based on faith that will help them to become successful and caring adults. It is my hope that this web site will acquaint you with what our parish has to offer. Pleas use this site to find information about the parish and the school. I invite your participation in the parish and to make weekly Sunday Mass the center of your spiritual life. Pope Benedict XVI in his Apostolic Exhortation, “Deus Charitas Est,” (God is Love) reminds us how much God loves us, and how through an act of love on our part at Mass we say: “Lord, you know that I love you.” May the flame of love always burn brightly in our lives as we find true life through the Eucharist and Church. May our faith guide us to the Lord and help us to be the salt of the earth and light to the world.

St. Vincent de Paul
The angel told the shepherds that the Savior was born and where to find him. How and when are we told? If we wait for the heavens to open and angels to speak to us, we will be waiting a lifetime. We are told in less spectacular ways of God’s presence and saving activity on our behalf, but no less powerful or […]
