Physical
Education
While public schools continue
to cut or limit P.E. programs, OLA is committed to helping students
have fun and stay fit through various physical fitness activities which
promote coordination, balance, endurance, tracking and flexibility. Our
licensed full-time P.E. teacher instructs OLA students on the rules and
techniques of team and individual sports, as well as many other
activities such as jump rope, kick ball, tag, dancing and more.
Health
Additionally, the health curriculum covers teeth, dental care,
functions of the body, drugs, alcohol and the five senses in grades 3,
4 and 5. In mid-school, the curriculum includes the body systems and
how they work, diseases, prevention, first-aid, safety and coping with
stress. |
