Fifth Sunday in Ordinary Time

Dear Our Lady of the Assumption Parish Family,<\/div>\n

Jesus used ordinary images, such as salt and light, to convey extraordinary truths that transform our lives. Just as salt purifies, preserves, and produces rich flavor for our daily food, we, too, as disciples of Jesus, are “salt” for the world. The Lord wants to work in and through us to purify, preserve, and spread the rich flavor of God’s kingdom of peace and joy everywhere. God’s grace not only illuminates the darkness in our lives but also fills us with spiritual light and peace. We carry the light of Jesus so that others may see the truth of the gospel and be free from the blindness of sin.\u00a0<\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/div>\n
Each day, we have the opportunity to share Christ’s love with everyone we encounter. When we live virtuously, we preserve our “saltiness” and become beacons of hope in a world that desperately needs God’s presence. There is great freedom and joy for those who live in the light of God’s truth and goodness. Embrace your calling to be both salt and light\u2014seasoning the world with kindness, compassion, and faith, while shining brightly so others may find their way home to God’s loving embrace.<\/div>\n
