That moment was not just for Peter, James, and John. It was a gift for all of us. God the Father spoke plainly: “This is my beloved Son; listen to Him.” In those words lies an invitation extended to every one of us — to draw near, to pay attention, and to trust that the same Jesus who shone like the sun is present with us still, in Word, in Sacrament, and in the quiet moments of prayer.

The Transfiguration reminds us that the path to glory runs through faithfulness, not comfort. Jesus knew what awaited Him in Jerusalem, and still He climbed the mountain and then descended it with purpose. He calls us to do the same — to stay awake spiritually, to follow Him even when the road is demanding, and to trust that His glory is not something distant but something He longs to share with us. As Catholics, we are not merely observers of this mystery — we are invited into it, transformed little by little each time we receive Him and each time we choose His way over our own.

Have a blessed day.

Yours in Christ,
Father Edward C.
