Palm Sunday of the Lord’s Passion

Dear Our Lady of the Assumption Parish Family,\u00a0<\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/div>\n
Jesus went to Jerusalem knowing what awaited Him \u2014 betrayal, rejection, and crucifixion. Yet the people of Jerusalem were ready to hail Him as their Messianic King! Little did they know what it would cost this King to usher in His kingdom. He entered riding a colt, a sign of peace, in meekness and humility \u2014 the Messianic King who offers true victory and lasting peace to His people. Victory and peace secured not by sword, but by the cross and resurrection, which would soon unfold in those sacred days of Passover.

Jesus Christ came to bring us the kingdom of God \u2014 a kingdom not of this world, but one that transforms it. He is the true King who offers peace, joy, and everlasting life to all who accept His kingship. Christ is the master of humility. He humbled himself and became obedient even to death on the cross. Thus, He does not lose His divinity when He teaches us humility. Jesus Christ came to bring us the kingdom of God.\u00a0He is the true King who offers peace, joy, and everlasting life to those who accept His Kingship.<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0When we welcome Christ as King of our hearts and homes, our lives become a living “Hosanna,” a cry of praise and trust in He who reigns forever.<\/div>\n
