That might sound like hard news, but it’s actually the best news: nothing we surrender to God is ever truly lost. Every small “cross” we carry with love — a burden set down, a will surrendered, a fear released — becomes the very doorway to freedom. Through His own cross, Jesus opened the way to a life full of grace, healing, and hope. He offers pardon to the weary, freedom to the burdened, and new life to anyone willing to walk that path with Him. This is the heart of the Gospel: love that transforms suffering into victory and death into life.

Jesus isn’t asking us to suffer for suffering’s sake. He is telling us that if we are willing to suffer as He did, we will receive our reward in God’s kingdom. When we let go of what we cling to — our own plans, our need for control, the things we think will make us safe — we open our hands to receive something far greater from God. This is the beautiful exchange at the center of our faith: what looks like loss becomes gain, and what looks like an ending becomes a beginning. God gives without measure, without holding back, and the joy He offers no cross can diminish. Do not be afraid — the way of the cross is also the way of victory. Whatever you place in God’s hands, however small, He will transform it into something eternal. Lose all for Jesus Christ, and you will gain all in Jesus Christ.

Have a peaceful day.

Yours in Christ,

Father Edward C.
