Dear Our Lady of the Assumption Parish Family,

 

Like John the Baptist, we are called to bear witness to the light and truth of Jesus. John preached a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins.  Jesus, the Sinless One, submitted Himself to John’s baptism out of love, for the remission of our sins. This humble submission was the beginning of His surrendering entirely to His Father’s will. 

 

Jesus came to ignite the fire of His Spirit within us so that we can share the joy and truth of the Gospel with a world that desperately needs God’s light and wisdom. His word has the power to transform our lives, enabling us to become lights that lead others to Him.  If you desire the Lord’s power, grace, and love to shine brightly in your life, ask Him to fill you with His Holy Spirit. If you want to see your life transformed in the likeness of Christ and become an instrument of the Gospel then examine Jesus’ humility and ask the Holy Spirit to forge this same attitude in your heart.
