Fifth Sunday of Lent

Dear Our Lady of  the Assumption Parish Family,

The raising of Lazarus is more than a miracle. It is a sign of God’s living promise that all who die in Christ will rise to everlasting life. When Jesus asked Martha, “Do you believe in the resurrection?” He was asking each of us the same question. Our answer is the Creed, our shared profession of faith in the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and our unshakeable hope in the resurrection of the dead and life everlasting. This is what we believe. This is what sustains us.

God does not leave us to find our way alone. He gives us His Holy Spirit to make us alive in Christ, to lead us from darkness into light, from despair into hope, and from death into life. Now is the moment to return to God, to walk in the light of Christ, and to open our hearts to His transforming grace. The same power that raised Lazarus from the tomb is available to us today, not just at the end of time, but right now, in our daily lives. Ask the Holy Spirit to renew you, deepening your faith, restoring your hope, and filling you with the joy that only God can give, the joy of knowing that in Christ, death does not have the final word. Life does. And that life is everlasting.

Have a peaceful day.

Yours in Christ,
Father Edward Domme
