Eighteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time

Dear Our Lady of the Assumption Parish Family,

When Jesus and His disciples sought a quiet place to rest, they instead found thousands of people waiting, hungry for hope and healing. Jesus didn’t turn them away — He welcomed them with open arms, teaching, comforting, and healing all who came to Him. That same welcome is extended to each of us today. Whatever weariness and uncertainty we carry into this week, we can trust that God meets us there with compassion, not impatience. We are never an interruption to His love; we are the very reason for it.

And when Jesus asked His disciples to feed the crowd with just five loaves and two fish, He wasn’t setting them up to fail — He was inviting them into a miracle. God so often works this way: taking the little we think we have to offer and multiplying it far beyond what we could imagine, so that others might be blessed through us. We don’t need to feel we have “enough” to make a difference. We need to offer what we have, in faith, and trust God to do the rest. Offer your small gifts of time, kindness, and love — and watch how generously God multiplies them for the good of those around us.

Have a blessed Sunday.

Yours in Christ,
Father Ed Domme
