Fourth Sunday of Easter

Dear Our Lady of the Assumption Parish Family,

In the Gospel of John, Jesus speaks to us with clarity: “I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved.” He does not offer us a distant or complicated path — He places Himself at the very threshold, inviting each of us in by name. The Good Shepherd knows His sheep, and He calls us not as a crowd, but individually, personally, with a voice we are made to recognize. In a world full of noise — voices that promise much and deliver little — Christ calls us to listen more deeply, to attune our hearts to the one Voice that has never misled us and never will.

The promise of this passage is not merely safety, but bounty: “I came that they may have life, and have it more abundantly.” This is not a life emptied of struggle, but one overflowing with meaning, with belonging, with the unshakeable knowledge that we are held. Walk through that gate — trusting that the One who opens it for us is the same One who laid down everything out of love for us. Enter trusting Him — and as you go, take others with you: those you love, and those who challenge you to love.
Have a peaceful day!

Yours in Christ,
Father Edward C. Domme
