Casserole Cooking Ministry Nourishing Hearts and Souls
Nourishing Hearts and Souls, One Casserole at a Time
At Our Lady of the Assumption, we believe in the power of compassion to transform lives. In 2009, our “Casserole Cooking” ministry was born with a simple yet profound mission – to provide hot, nourishing meals to those experiencing homelessness and hunger in our community.
This initiative harnesses the collective strength of our parish family, inviting each member to play a vital role in alleviating the burden of food insecurity. Through the preparation of lovingly crafted casseroles, we not only feed empty stomachs but also nourish souls with the warmth of human kindness.
We have partnered with the Good Shepherd Center, a beacon of hope in our city. They have given us tried-and-true recipes and provided us with the necessary containers. The process is straightforward: visit the parish office, collect the recipes and containers, purchase the ingredients, and follow the instructions to create a delicious, homemade casserole. Once frozen, these culinary offerings are returned to the parish, where they are delivered to The Good Shepherd Center to bring comfort and sustenance to those in need.
Every casserole you prepare is a testament to the compassionate spirit that resonates within our community. It is a tangible expression of our commitment to uplifting the most vulnerable among us, ensuring that no one is left behind or forgotten.
Join us in this noble endeavor, and together, we will craft a tapestry of hope, one casserole at a time. Your contribution, no matter how small, will make a profound difference in the lives of those who hunger not only for food but also for dignity and human connection. Help us nourish hearts and souls, one casserole at a time.
