Dear OLA families,
I am honored the OLA interviewing committee and Fr. Domme have hired me to serve as your principal! I welcome the opportunity and challenge of school leadership here at OLA. I am looking forward to working with the team of committed and seasoned staff, community members and you, the parents. Most of all, I am looking forward to working with and providing continued opportunities for your children to excel in an academically rigorous school, rich in Catholic identity.
I come to OLA with 10 years of teaching experience within the Archdiocese of Santa Fe in the elementary and middle school levels. Prior to education, I was a stay at home mom for 12 years where together with my husband we raised and continue to raise our four children. I also have experience as an operating room scrub and first assist within the specialty of ophthalmology.
I know OLA has a rich tradition and presence within our Archdiocese and the city of Albuquerque. My goal is to continue to build upon this. I know that together with our staff and teachers we can take our school to the next level in enrollment, and growth.
On a personal note, I am an Albuquerque native and a product of Catholic education graduating from Our Lady of the Annunciation and St. Pius X high school. I have a BA in elementary education from New Mexico Highlands and a MS from Creighton University. I have been married to my husband for 29 years. We have 3 adult children in college and living on their own and a bonus son beginning his sophomore year at St. Pius X. Together with my brothers and my husband we care for our mother who has dementia and lives next door to me. I love to cook gourmet meals and travel, especially to see my kids.
I will be on campus most of the summer beginning mid June. Once school starts you will find me outside during drop off with your children. My door is always open to you. Please feel free to come in and introduce yourself. I look forward to meeting you and your family. You can reach me at 256.3167 or at firstname.lastname@example.org. It’s going to be a great school year!
